Get involved in the 40 new COST Actions

A spring wrap-up...

The COST Association welcomed the Republic of South Africa as its first COST Partner Member during the 206th meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials, the COST General Assembly, on 10-11 April 2019 in Bucharest .

South Africa will maintain a budget dedicated to the participation of its nationals in COST Actions. This will provide them with more possibilities to participate in Actions and strengthen and establish mutually beneficial cooperation with European researchers and vice versa.

On 4 June 2019, the COST governing board, the Committee of Senior Officials, confirmed the funding of 40 new COST Actions, starting in Autumn 2019.

On 15 and 16 May, at the 9th meeting of the COST Scientific Committee in Brussels, Prof Jari Hämäläinen was unanimously re-elected as Scientific Committee Chair, for a period of 2 years.

Dr Jenny Renaut was elected as Scientific Committee Vice-Chair for the same period.

On 21 and 22 May we organised a COST Connect on cancer research that brought together researchers, practitioners, policymakers and patient representatives.

W. Burtscher, Deputy Director-General at DG Research and Innovation, opened the event and S. Damjanović, Minister of Science of Montenegro, gave a talk about SEEIIST.

On 13 April 2019 the COST Association organised the first awareness day for the Near Neighbour Countries (NNC) at the COST premises.

National representatives learned about the work of COST, the importance and impact of networking, and how COST Actions promote and spread excellence.

The COST Connect workshop on oceans is organised by the COST Association and will take place at the COST premises in Brussels. The event aims to enable a debate between researchers, policy-makers and funding organisations active in the wider field of oceans. Read more...
